Several people sustained injuries when a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Sydney experienced significant turbulence on Friday morning.
Flight DL41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it landed at Sydney Airport, a representative for the carrier stated. Four flight attendants required medical attention.
Emergency medical services stated they evaluated five individuals, and transported three of them to hospital with minor injuries that such as spinal discomfort and headaches. Those affected spanned from their thirties and seventies.
This marks the most recent case of commercial jets being hit by turbulence, with aviation specialists saying that global warming is a significant contributor.
There were 245 passengers and fifteen staff members on the Airbus A350, the representative added, adding that the plane arrived "safely and normally" at Sydney Airport at 6:48 a.m. local time on Friday.
